Warwick District’s New Community Plan Launch of Public Consultation

The Warwick Partnership, comprising the main agencies (police, health, district and county councils) together with the business, community and voluntary sectors, is about to launch the public consultation on ‘Warwick District 2020’, the district’s new Community Plan.

The new Community Plan is the result of almost a year’s work by the Warwick Partnership. The time has been spent reviewing the achievements of the first community plan, carrying out extensive research to determine current issues facing the district and consulting with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve consensus on a shared vision.

This vision ‘We want Warwick District to be safe, healthy, fair and prosperous, now and into the future’ looks beyond the next decade. It is supported by a framework of long term objectives, priorities and possible actions which have been signed up to by the key organizations that make up the Warwick Partnership.

The Plan is a ‘work-in-progress’, a fluid document, the final content of which will be largely determined by the diverse communities within Warwick District. The consultation aims to achieve participation from a wide range of people to help transform the broad cross cutting objectives into meaningful actions that will benefit distinct communities in the District.

The consultation period runs to the end of September. Representatives of the Warwick Partnership will be doing the rounds at key community venues as well as attending local forums and meetings. The Community Plan consultation document will be distributed widely as well as being available online at www.warwickpartnership.org.uk. People can also post their views or enter into discussion at www.warwickforum.org.uk.

Following the consultation, the draft Community Plan will be revised and the final version will be launched in the autumn.
