What does it do?

The key aim of this multi agency group is to work together to maximize the impact of health improvement/promotion initiatives, work towards reducing health inequalities and promote environmental, social and economic well being.

The group has been working on the development of an action plan to support the new Health Strategy and the Community Plan. The areas covered in the action plan are:-

  • to support and expand the work of Surestart
  • raise awareness of sexual health amongst young people
  • address mental health issues
  • support carers
  • expand the Falls Prevention Programme targeting older people
  • promote physical activity and healthy eating
  • promote smoking cessation and smoke free public places

Who is on the group?

This is a multi-agency group. The membership includes healthcare professionals, statutory agencies and voluntary sector representatives.

  • Tuesday 6th September 2005, 2 pm at the Council Offices, Milverton Hill, Leamington Spa
  • Tuesday 6th December 2005, 2pm, venue to be confirmed
