The Community Plan

Background

The Warwick Partnership’s core task is to develop the new Community Plan for the district which will set out a long term vision and key priorities. The Community Plan is an important collection of ideas and actions that relate to key issues and services which affect the lives of all people in Warwick district.

Warwick District 2020

Since the Warwick Partnership was formed in October 2003 its main focus was to review the old community plan 2001 – 2003 and then set about developing its successor, Warwick District 2020. This new community plan sets out a long term vision underpinned by six strategic objectives and accompanying priorities.

Warwick District 2020 is an important collection of ideas and actions derived from extensive consultation with the voluntary and community sector, public service providers, the private and business sectors and the wider public. These actions relate to key issues and services which affect the lives of all people in Warwick District.

The vision and strategic objectives are very long term, up to 2020, but the action plans have a life of 3 years, as a staged approach is required to help us achieve our long term vision. This approach also acknowledges the need to review progress and adapt to new challenges and issues as they arise.

Implementation and Monitoring

The next stage is, of course, implementation and work has already started on many of the actions. We also need to ensure that we can accurately monitor progress and to this end a working document is being collated which will comprise the detail of all agencies involved in specific actions and the milestone targets to be achieved in order to meet final deadlines. This document will be available on the website in the very near future.
